“How grounded are you? Roxane Revon makes her viewers question their relationship to the earth and the various forms of life that grow in and out of it. She carefully studies the way plants sprout from their roots, and interrogates our connections to them. Through video renderings and delicate drawings, she zooms in on the invisible, hence making us take a deeper look at our own origins and foundations. She brings us to a place of restored fertility and rebirth, allowing for new ways of movements, connections and revived visions of the self.”

Aude Adrien, author of New York : au cœur de la création contemporaine.

“Revon’s multidisciplinary approach combines sculpture, installation, video, and works on paper to bring attention to the complex systems that lie beneath our everyday awareness. In her installations, she deconstructs and reorganizes natural elements like seeds, rocks, and minerals, highlighting the coexistence of various life forms within a shared environment. By germinating, photographing, and sketching plant roots, she unveils vibrant lines and abstract patterns that echo the hidden structures sustaining our world. Her use of transparent materials, such as reused plexiglass, allows viewers to observe these intricate networks and reminds us of the beauty of natural processes often overlooked in daily life.”

Aurore Vullierme - Curator of Ghosts of the Mundane

As a multidisciplinary artist, I conduct experiments with biomaterials to create layered pieces that explore life, time, and memories. My work often resembles a palimpsest, where layers of lives and stories are superimposed and revealed as the Earth ages, echoing the natural process of sedimentation. Reflecting on biologist Lynn Margulis's work, which emphasizes that life has significantly shaped Earth's surface and atmosphere, I observe and collaborate with plant roots, mycelium, and bacteria to delve into themes of transformation and our responsibility toward the world we inhabit, questioning our role as humans in the broader context of Earth's life.
